Washington (AP) – President Donald Trump says on Monday he will sign an enforcement order that, if applied, can reduce the cost of some medicines – reviving unsuccessful efforts from his first term on a question that he speaks, since even before becoming president.
The order, which Trump promises, will direct the Ministry of Health and Human Services to bind what Medicare pays for medicines administered in a medical office with the lowest price paid by other countries.
“I will set up a policy of the most pre -pre -prevalent nation where the United States will pay the same price as the nation that pays the lowest price all over the world,” the president publishes on Sunday on his social media site, promising to sign the White House order on Monday morning.
“Our country will finally be treated fairly, and our citizens’ health costs will be reduced by the number that they never thought even before,” Trump added.
His proposal would probably only affect certain medicines covered by Medicare and given in an office – they believe infusions that treat cancer and other injection injection. But it could potentially bring significant savings to the government, although the “trillions of dollars” that Trump boasted in his post can be exaggeration.
Medicare provides a health insurance for approximately 70 million more adult Americans. Complaints that drug prices in the US are known, even compared to other large and wealthy countries, have long attracted the anger of both countries, but a lasting repair has never cleared the congress.
